Summer creativity

Summer has been on for two months, we are having lots of fun. There are days like today, just staying home in the afternoon to play. Yoshi decided to pull out crayons, papers and tape. I love his creativity.... he does have few toy masks, but I guess super heros love fashion change too once in a while. He even cut perfect holes for the eyes this time. Super Hero saves the world!!!!!!!!!!!

Traverse City trip- Part 2

Traverse City is famous of their cherry. We bought their rainier cherries few times, and (kids) ate like snack. Very sweet and fresh.

Besides canoeing, we also took a boat ride on the lake. Very relaxing. The highlight for Yoshi had to be the chance for him to sit on the captain chair (& steer the boat with his feet)
(& the highlight for Nori, must be the beer"s". Total relaxation)

Summer vacation at Traverse City- part I

We had a great trip this past weekend with a 4 days holiday. We travelled north to Michigan- Traverse City, which was about 7 hrs driving (straight without any stops, but of course we had many stops along the way...) And with Yoshi not completely understood the concept of minutes and hours, he's been asking "how many more minutes to the destination?"...  I mean, he really asked every other few minutes...
The water by Lake Michigan was a bit cold for me, but certainly no problem for the kids at all.

Who could escape the Cherry Festival Carnival (Traverse City is famous of their cherry growing, they were delicious). How I wish we were doing the real fishing adventure in the trip....
I'm so glad we did a canoe activity during the trip. It was one of the highlight for the kids. Yoshi actually paddled the whole ride along with Nori- 2.5 hrs paddling. He really enjoyed a lot. The water was so clear, and perfect weather for the canoeing.
(at the beginning of the paddling, Kiharu was so excited too... but then at the end, she said "I want to go home..." ^_^
Part of the paddling route (river) eventually opened up to the Lake , a spectacle ride.

Yes, Kiharu did try paddling a few times... it was funny, as the boat went nowhere, or in a circular motion.

........more to write later....
