Thank you Uncle Henry

Yoshi: "Mama, 舅父買野?" (Uncle went shopping? - whenever Henry is out somewhere, I would tell Yoshi he went shopping)

Mama: "唔係, 舅父返屋企見公公婆婆..." (no, he went back home to see grandpa/ma)

Yoshi: "ooh....................."

This afternoon, it's so quiet in the house. We are back to the home alone daily life......no more crazy laugh between uncle and nephew, or indoor soccer trainning, or interruption of each other's personal spaces....^_^ we will meet again at 'Skype'.....see u. Thanks for coming to hang out with us. We miss u.

Official move in

Unlike last week nap time, today had a different scene---- after putting Yoshi down for a late nap, I went downstairs. Very soon, he disappeared from the monitor. So I thought maybe he was just cruising around upstairs as usual. But then, it became very quiet, I didn't hear him talking or calling me at all. ........ and here was what I found--

I guess someone had just officially move in to our bedroom, finding his own comfortable spot. (Nori, when u are back, wonder if he will return the spot to you.....^_^)

Too many options?

While I was at a store, I suggested Uncle Henry to take Yoshi to the toy department so I can make a quick shopping trip. After 5 minutes, this was what I saw........ Yoshi was really puzzling to which one he liked the most (or why were there so many trucks)?! Despite Uncle Henry kept asking him which one he wants, all these monster trucks were back to the shelf afterwards.

Another strange dance move from the little monkey.....oh my wooden floor.......

Japanese 101- - A year later....

Last year, I bought this set of wooden blocks from a garage sale. This teaches u the Japanese basic characters- Hiragana. Since then, it became Nori's teaching tool/ game set with Yoshi. There were many nights, Nori would spend his little 5-10 mins quality time (after a long day at work) teaching Yoshi this before he goes to bed. It's their special bonding moments. I didn't actually realized until I look at my old blog post, that it's been a year (exactly) since the Japanese 101 class began.... (click here to see the old post video).
Well, thanks to the very patience and hard working Nori, it finally shows signs of reward from the curious student. Though this is just the beginning, but it's getting very fun and interesting. Yoshi & Nori- Ganbatte!!!! (Mama needs to learn together again, I almost forgot everything....)

Nihon (Japan)

Yoshi: "Mama, Otousan どこ?" (where is daddy?)
Mama: "Nihon" (Japan)
Yoshi: "Otousan...Nihon..."

U-N-C-L-E

"舅父...舅父...舅父..." (Uncle....uncle....uncle....), that's what Yoshi has been calling every day and night (beside calling Otousan- Nori). Of course-----

- Who entertains little Yoshi while we were busy shopping?

- Who sits at the backseat with little Yoshi and teaches him all the kung fu moves?

- Who doesn't mind having an intruder in the changing room?

- Who is willing to share half a seat with little Yoshi watching.......

.....soccer? and most importantly, Who gives him that custom made soccer jersey and willing to share the same number #10 with him?
- and Who would still carry a smile after being attack by the kick??
======== of course, it's Uncle Henry- 舅父

Hello Uncle Henry

Uncle Henry is finally here with us. Yoshi recognized him right away, but it took him a few minutes to warm up before he's willing to give uncle a big hug. And ever since then, they are buddies.....

How could Uncle Henry not be Yoshi's buddy? He's like an early santa clause, bring lots and lots of toys, even a big Anpanman love seat couch (for the future little sister too). And thanks grandpa and grandma for all the other gifts too....(that bus is one of his favorite as well...even took that to the bathroom). We are going to have tons of fun time in the next 2 weeks........

Halloween gathering

Today, we had invited all the little friends from the Japanese playgroup for a halloween theme playgroup. It was a lot of fun planning for this and seeing all the kids dressed up....EXCEPT my own child. Yoshi (strongly) refused to wear his costume. (let's see if Nori will have his magic trick to get him wearing that for trick or treat later this month). I made those orange fruit mix containers, it was very easy to make (only if Yoshi would leave me alone in the kitchen.....). Yuko-san made the little mashed pumpkin, they were so cute to be eaten. She used the pumpkin skin to cut into little pieces for the face. As for the craft project- precut tree trunk & green grass to be glued onto the paper, then added the leave shape foam stickers on top. Somehow on Yoshi's, all the leaves were fallen to the ground already....^_^
