Berries picking

This morning, the kids woke up very early. So after breakfast, I decided to take them to a berries farm. Our neighbor friends were able to join us for a mini road trip as well. Black and red raspberries are at the peak season, but what we love the most is actually the strawberries. They were super sweet, very delicious. It's our first berries picking visit.

the black raspberries are so much easier to be pull out than the red ones (even they were on the same plant).
How about a fresh mix berry smoothies.....^_^

Swimming

We have lived in our house for almost 7 yrs. But we never visited the swimming pool in our community. Since the kids were born, I didn't have the confident to take the kids to the pool by myself. I wasn't sure if I can handle watching both of them at the same time.

Yesterday, it was very hot. I know how much the kids want to play with water (which we would normally just set up the little kiddie pool at backyard). Suddenly, I have the urge to check out the pool in our community. Then we went home and changed into swim suits. It was almost 4:30p.m, most families already left, and it was very empty at the pool. So the kids were able to enjoy very much. It's been a year since they swam (in Hong Kong).

I have a feeling we will be swimming a lot this summer.... lots of fun (& lots of work for me... but it's all worth)

(Grandma, I don't know how you did it when we were little. You used to take me and my brother to the beach back and forth by buses.......now I appreciated your effort...^_^)

Summer camps

The past few summers, we were always travelling back in Asia. This year, we had decided to stay here. We have signed up several summer activity/camp for the kids. It's a perfect way to try new activities, and figure out if they are interest or not.

Yoshi had chosen golf, it was a 3 day camp (1.5 hr each day). He had a lot of fun playing at the golf course.

Kiharu is 3 yrs old. All these time, she was only hanging out with me, never join any class. So for the first time, we have signed up a dance/gymnastic class. she LOVES it (so are we). It's so great to see her so happy. And for the first time, I see that she is growing up, not a baby little girl anymore.  And the other great thing is to see how Yoshi enjoys seeing his little sister in the class, being a very supportive brother.

Summer begins

Summer vacation has already began a week ago....... the last day of school was filled with excitement.
It was a wonderful year with Mrs. Melink and all his classmates. She is a great teacher, always encourages Yoshi to try his best. She even went to visit Yoshi at Japanese school during the open house, making Yoshi felt so special.
Well, summer begins with.......superhero pretend... he sure loves all his birthday presents.
Somehow, with the same mask, Kiharu seems a bit more "powerful". ^_^
Who wouldn't love to pretend like Spiderman, shoot water to the window?!
This is Yoshi's drawing of Spiderman... love his colorful imagination. (maybe someday, he will get to watch the real spiderman movie....)
