Today is a L-O-N-G day......with Yoshi still on recovery stage, didn't want to take him out in the cold and cloudy weather. So we stayed home all day. Since 8:15a.m, there was only a 1.5 hr nap. So to keep this little guy occupied wasn't easy, especially he had few cranky moments.... but thanks to Rafael, I was inspired to let Yoshi try be a little chef. So he got to prepare his tea time snack on his own (almost).

Snack #1- steam sponge cake (sent by Obaa-chan from Japan, arigato!)
Snack #2- fresh squueze orange juice

More???

We did have lots of fun (& patience) preparing the tea time together. Wonder what's next? (that's easy and less mess (Thx Mackie family for your inspiration ^_^)

The "B" word....

WARNING: The below first photo might cause appetite loss/ upset stomach before or after meals...but unfortunately it's unavoidable if u continue to read this blog....

.
Ok, now u have seen the photo....^_^ well, if u are parents yourself or have spent time with toodlers, besides pee or poops, the "B" word (Booger) would definitely have been a topic before. And I'm SURE, u have also been in the same situation as us this morning at the breakfast table:

Nori: "Eeewww.... look at Yoshi's nose"
Yoshi: "hahahaha" (from Nori's reaction)
Nori: "It (the booger) bugs me a lot to look at...I want to get rid of those....."

......it then became a "mission" for the following 5 mins

I guess I should have taken a "before " and "after" photo for comparision....^_^.....anyway, now u can go back to finish your lunch....

P.s- Yoshi is feeling mucb better today (daddy's weekend power). Running nose stopped, less coughing, no more fever. So hopefully he will be fully recover soon. At least, he LOVED the pink liquid medicine twice a day, almost like he is looking forward for the sweet treat.

Hope it's going to be over soon...

Just as u were reading the blog about Yoshi's recovery, and the aquarium visit fill with excitment and energy, who knew right next day, fever was back. Yes, it's fever. On Friday, after visiting my friend's garage sale, I noticed Yoshi energy level was really low. He was so tired that he didn't want to eat much of his lunch. So I put him to nap. He woke up in an hr with temperature......so I decided to take him to see doctor. Doctor said he has lots of "drainage" in his throat from the cold, some kind of sinus. So hopefully with the medicine, he will recover soon this time. Last night, he still had a fever. But today was much better. Perhaps with Nori being home, his energy was back. Sleep well Yoshi, good night.

Uncle Henry, this is for you-
Tonight there was a soccer game on TV (Us v.s. El salvador), Yoshi said "B-A-L-L", then he went to grab his own soccer ball and started kicking.
He definitely feels a bit better with this kicking ball energy. Hope no more fever (especially in the middle of the night).....
P.S- Oliver, sorry, we missed your birthday party today, hope u had fun. We will re-celebrate later..

Aquarium

Today the weather is still cloudy, kind of cold. Since Yoshi is still recovering from his cough, so we haven't really meet up with any other kids lately. And all we did was going to stores. So this morning, I have decided to take him out for little adventure- Aquarium. We had annual pass, we figured out after 2 visits, it would breakeven. (& today was our 2nd visit). It's about 35 mins drive.

Hi Dora....(finding Nemo cartoon)
Yoshi was very excited in this visit. Part of it was probably because he got to see other kids, and got to walk around somewhere. It's nice that he's finally looking at fish rather than just "people" like the last visit. And at times, he would be very willing to hold my hands walking around, so it's much easier. In the below photo, he was so excited that he was holding up his arms pointing at the fishes. (or was he copying other kids?)

Let's eat

Well, after few sunny days, rain has finally came. With Yoshi still coughing a little bit, I couldn't invite any of his friends to come over and hang out. So we are stuck indoor today.....
Did someone want to go out?
Well, what's better to do than eating while stuck in house? Yoshi loves eating yogurt. I don't give him often as they are sweet and cold. But everytime when he did get to eat, U can tell he wanted MORE..... How often do u see him cleaning up his bowl that well? Well, mama was craving for something sweet too...so I got to turn on the oven...

T-H-P

"T-H-P"
- no official pronounciation
- "T-H-P" stands for "Temporary Hearing Problem"
- Symptoms: selective hearing of words. No response to your command for at least 3 minutes.
- Behavior: business as usual. They might give u a "huh?" look/smile afterwards.
- Medication: NONE.

P.s.- this usual behavior also occurs on adult males......

Daddy's little helper / cheering leader

Yoshi is definitely feeling much better, about 90% back to the original model. (^_^) Today while Nori was fixing his car, me and Yoshi were enjoying the nice weather outside. So of course, this little curious monkey wanted to help daddy.
Yoshi: "ah ba he mo bu ba la..." (translation "what are u doing?")
Yoshi was creating some hip hop music with a screwdriver & jackstands.
"Yoshi, what?"
(relaxing on the king seat, eating snacks and watching daddy fixing car)

Special bondings

Here are 2 of the very special bond between little Yoshi & Nori:

1) Every weekend, we would go out using Nori's car, why? not because it saves any gas mileage, nor does Nori enjoy switching the car seat around. But because daddy knows how much Yoshi likes sitting WAY up high in the middle looking at the cars in the front. No matter how tired Yoshi was, he would always stay awake to enjoy the weekend car ride. It must be Yoshi's weekend highlight.

2) How many dads in the world would give their sons foot massage? Yoshi really (REALLY) loves it. If u pay attention to the video clip, u will see Yoshi lifted up his legs, making sure Nori massages both legs.

Feeling better?

I think someone is starting to feel better................
He's still coughing, running nose on and off, and cranky on and off...but surely he's on the road to recovery. And what made him smile that much? .....daddy's home.

Sweet dream

This evening, Yoshi was starting to feel much better. He still has coughing and running nose, but compare to yesterday, I can see the improvement (finally). How am I so sure? well...I did yell out "Yoshi, don't do this, don't do that...." (which I haven't said for few days) I'm glad my little monkey is coming back.....(wait for few days, then I will start posting blogs about this little naughty monkey ^_^)

These few afternoons, I was stuck in his room. Perhaps because he was sick, so he's very fuzzy about taking naps and decided to sleep on the sofa bed instead of crib. But to do that, I would need to stay in his room so to make sure he won't fell off from the bed or roll off from it. Thanks to the lab top so at least I can still communicate to outside world. Today, I took my camera instead. It's interesting how sometimes through the camera lens, u would see a different perspective on the same things u have been looking at everyday........

(he was breathing with his mouth because his nose was stuffy ^_^)

A glimse of recovery

Yoshi is still sick.....Nori came home early tonight after receiving my text message with a photo of Yoshi after dinner....and the first thing he said to him: "OH...what happen Yoshi, poor guy. You look terrible." (Yoshi's eyes were all puffy with tears and running nose and coughing) In fact, he's still having a really bad cold. Not much of improvement yet. Hope he will feel better tomorrow, otherwise, I might have to call the doctor's office again soon.

Earlier the day, I did have a glimse of his recovery. He had much more energy after breakfast. So I took the little car out from basement and let him played in the backyard. He was so excited and u can see his smile.

Today's weather was so warm that even doggies were enjoying the breeze.....
Side note- who said economy is bad. 3 houses (actually there were more on that new street) were being built at the same time. Luckily we aren't living in the house right in between the construction.
