Imagination

One of the bonding activity for Yoshi & Nori is Lego. Yoshi likes to use his Lego to create diffferent things. I'm glad to see that he's not just following instruction books, but also to add his creativity & imagination.
He built a jail house on his own....with the lego "robbers" sitting in jail behind bars. Wonder what the policemen were discussing about?!
 His "rockets" creation
I was really suprise to see this, can u figure out what? (see below for answer)
Kiharu has her own girly version (thank you kung kung, po po). She had Yoshi helping her to put these together.
..... so this is what Yoshi had created with Lego..... He had borrowed Doraemon books from Japanese school library. How cute he related that to Lego....

First Ice Skating

Last weekend, we took Yoshi to his first ice-skating experience. Though Yoshi didn't know how to skate, but he really had a great time. I think we will be back again soon...

Weekend

Finally it's Friday, something to look forward to when weekend comes. This winter, I feel like a bear hypernating in the cave. Didn't want to go out as much, just want to be "cozy" at home. (or is there another word call "lazy"?) With all the sickness going around, sometimes I found it much easier to just avoid it all and get a break in between. We went to the library more often than usual, have few extra storytime at home (one time I even fell asleep WHILE reading a storybook, the kids had to wake me up, I don't quite know how that happened...^_^)

Last Sunday, the weather warmed up a little bit, so the kids enjoyed playing outside. (but in between these 5 days, we were back to cold weather with snow flurries... what a strange weather)
Kiharu can paddle the bike by herself now...
Yoshi did his first golfing on Saturday, glad to see he still enjoys it. Time to wash their gears...

 Monkey see, monkey do.

Got what I wished for (weather....not injury)

Well, I had always been saying that I wanted one more big snow day before season ended. I did get what I wished for yesterday- snow storm..... but only happened on the night when Nori was out of town... and when we needed to go to hospital emergency room.......

Right before bedtime, the kids were playing with the toy flute (musical instrument). I wasn't paying attention, but guessed they were dancing and "blewing" the flute, just like the musical band performance. Suddenly, Kiharu cried and I saw blood coming out. Initially I thought maybe she hitted her teeth/gum. Not till later when I further checked, that I realized it's her throat.  After calling doctor, we decided to send her to hospital emergency room just to be safe. It was 8p.m, right when the weather forecast predicted snow storm began... (and yes, they were so right this time)

Long story short, doctor said she is ok. Luckily it didn't cut into the center part of her throat, it could have been worse. She is very normal today. Just need to eat softer food for these few days. But she said not much hurting anymore.

The best that came out of this accident, was to see how caring and loving Yoshi. He was very sweet. Perhaps knowing Nori wasn't around, he knew he needs to help out more. On the way to hospital, I could tell he's getting very sleepy, but I told him to hold on longer, because I can't carry both sleeping children from the parking lot under such horrible snow condition. When we got there, I thank him for being such a great boy, and he said "we are good teamwork!". ^_^

Well, I have always been saying no to drinking with straw cup in the car, because I always worry about if we will step on the break suddenly or got hit, which the straw could become a weapon to the throat. Never realized, the toy flute could be part of it too.... hopefully this would be a reminder to someone else too.

After this, I'm ready for Spring season now......
(they were watching TV while waiting for doctor)

Nori, we miss you...............

The actual performance

You have seen their previous practice video clip, here is their actual piano recital performance on Sunday. It's a fun experience for both of them. (I kept the original video length, thinking grandparents probably would enjoy watching it. ^_^)

Thanks Atsushi for playing (& having fun) with Yoshi. ^_^
