Close up on "Hish"

Today me and Nori got to see "Hish" close up again, it's been almost 2 months since we saw his hide and seek game on the screen. This time, the ultrasound video is showing much more like a "baby", rather than just skeletons....but I must say I still have a difficult time trying to figure out which body part is which, till the lady pointed it out on the screen. The best moment was seeing his lip moving, then followed by his nose, eyes....look so real. He is now about 5-6 LB, very active as he was moving around a lot just within the few mins ultrasound video.... can't wait to see him in real person and hear his voice.....

Escaping from the crib........

Do we need anymore words to explain this series of photo? if Nori is doing this, can you imagine how our kid will be like? No wonder monkey is the theme here....... (all I can say is this new crib has now got a slight curve to the design)

Temporary custody

On Mon night, me and Nori attended another mother/child safety class at the hospital. It's actually pretty fun, they taught you how to change diapers, bathing the baby, burping...... interesting, another step to reality. Each couples has a temporary custody to a baby doll, honestly, I can't really tell if it's he/ she (I guess I forgot to check....) but pretty long eyelashes though.

Oh, one more fun product that they showed us which I have never seen before, it's call "weeblock", here is the product description: "A must-have for the parents of baby boys, Weeblock™ is a cup-like, wee wee absorbing sponge with a by 2-ply cotton jersey cover that you place between your son's legs during diaper changes. Bright color combinations with embroidered icons give this utilitarian product a healthy dose of fun." (so did u figure out what these are for?)

Latest update

It's been a lot of fun for me and Nori (& hopefully all of u too) in counting the vote of Hish's name. Hope more to come. So far, me and Nori are taking our time to see which one we like most, no decision yet, so hang in there everyone.....^_^ I know Hish is definitely excited in getting his new name soon. Oh, one "minor" thing to keep in mind when u pick your choice, don't forget I will need to have a easy name to yell out if Hish is being naughty or waking him up to go to school..... if he's like future uncle Henry, then I might need to call his name more than 5 times before he will response, so it can't be a name too tricky to pronounce....hee hee... (just kidding).....^_^ here is a photo of uncle Henry and Christa

Vote for your favorite baby name for Hish....^_^ (just for fun)

After working on the name list for three weeks, we finally have our "semi-final list". Thought it will be fun to get your favorite vote... please leave us comment. ^_^

Just to give you a little background on this list:

- First we got two sets of numbers for the first name ("7+8" and "7+6", each set has to be in this particular order), these indicate the number of writtern strokes in Chinese characters. These were given to us by Nori's parents and his aunt & uncle, base on several factors, like our birth date, our original names.......

- then we gathered all the chinese characters from the name reference books we have, which add up to a total of 210 names combo under those criteria.....(no wonder Nori has to spent few nights typing up in the excel files.....I think his hair has turn more grey since then)

- so thruout these 3 weeks, we just keep crossing out those we don't like, base on the pronounciation in both Japanese, Cantonese and English.....(what a easy way to narrow down initially...), talking to both future-grandparents, and most importantly, the meaning of each chinese characters, then the list has dropped from 210 to 50 to now 5 only! (what a process)

Here are the "finalists" for the first name. ( 神林 Kambayashi- is our last name)

- 宏明 ヒロアキ Hiroaki Kambayashi
- 宏幸 ヒロユキ Hiroyuki Kambayashi
- 克幸 カツユキ Katsuyuki Kambayashi
- 孝拓 タカヒロ Takahiro Kambayashi
- 良明 ヨシアキ Yoshiaki Kambayashi

Let's see which one is most popular among all of our friends and family. Don't worry, this is just for fun. So leave us your vote here on this blog site, so everyone can keep track with the fun process!! (just click the below "comment" box, then on the "identity" page, just click "other" and type in your name. No need to sign up for anything) ^_^ Thanks for checking this out.

Evening Walk

After a long day working inside the house (mainly Nori, and I'm the assistant/back up cheerleader), we took a walk around the neighbourhood during the evening. Weather was great, and it's still very bright around 6p.m. Summer is definitely here, the trees are bloom with flowers, so pretty.
