Hello Nolan & Oliver again

Yoshi had a playday with Susannah's boys- Nolan & Oliver. It's good to be able to hang out with other kids, I think Yoshi really enjoys it now he can sit a little better, still not balancing well, but manage to feel like a big boy as the others....

This photo is funny...
Yoshi- seems like he got caught for doing something bad.
Nolan (middle- 3yrs old)- showing off all his teeth, since he has the most among the boys here.
Oliver (10mths)- Yoshi's partner in crime look....

Bad Mama!!!

Today, it finally happened- Yoshi fell off from our bed.........it happened too fast, just like the Walmart commercial theme song- "rolling rolling rolling, rolling rolling rolling......" My hand caught him right at the moment when he landed on the carpet along with my pant as cusion. He did cry for a second, then stopped. I was so scared. But then I remember my friend Tonya once told me long time ago: "if someday Yoshi fell off from the bed, he will be alright. It happens to every kid and scares every mom, but don't freak out, he will be fine." Though I know it sounds bad, but it did calm me down at that moment. After a little drop of tears, big smile came back!!! Sorry Yoshi, I know grandma had warned me before....Gomenne Yoshi & Ottoosan!
Here is the happy Yoshi tonight. He is now starting to feel the tickle.....

Ottoosan, we miss u.

Fishy Yoshi
"Moshi moshi, Ottoosan?? can u hear me? does this sound better now that I chewed on the telephone wire?"
Here is the quiet side of Yoshi....(before he got tired of sitting in the chair.....) What makes him smile? of course was to hear Ottoosan's name. I think he was trying to say "come home soon Ottoosan...."

2 baths in 1 day?!

Oh yes, in the middle of Yoshi's bath this afternoon......suddenly, he gave me a "clown's smile" look (what's that?! imagine stretching out your lips), and what's follow was his poop & pee......AHAHAH!!!! "Yoshi, it's in the middle of your bath!!!!!" and for the first time, I had to scoop "it" out with my bare hand. (sorry, if u are in the middle of eating, I should have warned u first perhaps....but don't worry, no photo this time). Just in case u wonder, yes I did debate for a second if I could continue to use the same water to finish up the bath.....but I just can't do it. Oh well, here we go, took another bath with new clean water.

I guess I should have teached Yoshi his first word "poop" instead of mama.....

He's back

Yoshi woke up this morning with a big big smile. It's a relaxing Sunday. Thanks to daddy daycare, I was able to go out by myself for 2 hrs. They seems to have great father & son bonding time while I was gone. We will miss daddy for the upcoming few days as he will be having business trip out of town. Call us Ottoosan!!!!!!!

Poor Little Yoshi........

The incident happened like this:
Tonight we were at the mall. Nori & Uncle Henry were outside a store with Yoshi while I was shopping. Suddenly, Henry ran in and said "Yoshi just vomited!", so I immediately left and checked on him. Poor guy had his clothes dirty, seems not so sure what happened, so we took him into bathroom and clean up. Of course this happened on one of those day when I don't have any back up clothes for him, so Nori had to run into a kids clothing store and got new outfits for Yoshi. After a few mins, he vomited again (left over of the chicken congee....). We did call the doctor, but were adviced to let him sleep and observed till tomorrow. We knew Yoshi was probably fine after vomiting since his smile came back, no fever...........long story short, we figured out what happened was probably because right after he ate, we went out. I was holding him the entire time in the mall, and perhaps that shaked his stomach a bit and got upset....... It's now 11p.m. and he was asleep. This is definitely the first challenge for me and Nori having a sick baby. Although it's minor, but it did remind us how fragile a baby is and how much he needs us. Can't wait to see his big big smile tomorrow morning, we shall give him extra hugs & xoxoxo.....

Here are just few extra funny thing during this new experience:

1) Poor Uncle Henry, Yoshi was crying in the stroller, so out of kindness, he picked Yoshi up to comfort him, that's when Yoshi vomited on his new jacket.....luckily it seems to be waterproof kind, so it should be easy to wash away that chicken congee smell......

2) It was probably the first kids clothes shopping experience for Nori on his own. With us being in the mall, of course these are not like Walmart pricing...and the on sale rack wasn't the first thing came to his mind either. So the consequence of me not bringing any backup clothes, the total bill came to $80 (US) for an emergency outfit......luckily there is great return policy here, so I can return the extra non-use clothes later on. But I must say Nori did good, because everything he bought, fit Yoshi perfectly.....

3) On our way to parking lot, Uncle Henry said to me: "So I guess u have something to write on the blog tonight....." haha, I actually wasn't even thinking about that at all. But good that he reminded me. Except, I didn't have the journalist mind set, otherwise, I would have brought out camera to capture the vomiting moment......(of course not!!!)

That's it. Yoshi is still sleeping very well. I shall post his photo with big big smile tomorrow. Good night.

P.s. (Sorry Uncle Henry & Kaori, we couldn't have our sit down dinner with cheesecake as planned........let's try again next week)
Check out Yoshi's new "emergency" outfit.....this was taken after we arrived home, he seemed to be fine, don't worry.
Having fun with Uncle Henry before we left for dinner
What's Yoshi starring at again this time??

His favorite cartoon- Doraemon.

Highchair

During our trip back home, we were lucky enough to borrow the highchair from my friend Connie & Nori's sister, so Yoshi was able to have somewhere to sit at home. After we came back, we have decided it's time to get Yoshi one too, as he is eating more solid food now. And he can join us at the dining table. Nori was particularly in love with the same Combi chair back home, but they don't sell those here in any stores. So after searching for a while, he found one online. Daddy was happy!! As some of you who have not seen one before, the best part of this chair is u can lay the chair 180 degree flat, swing back and forth, perfect for little infant. So now everyone is happy....

Yoshi- happy because he can sit up high with us, no more wondering what's on the table...

Mama- happy because when I feed him solid food, no more wresting with his legs/ arms, or bending my own back for lower position

Nori- happy because.....hm....ah.....I guess he was able to find the chair, and it's a new gadget.

(Please excuse Yoshi's morning hairstyle, kind of wild!)

Combi Easy Glider Plus High Chair Hey Auntie Winnie, I think Yoshi is e-mailing u, while checking the online stock market at the same time.

Happy birthday MAMA

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Yesterday, I celebrated my birthday by taking Yoshi to his music playgroup. It was fun. He really enjoyed seeing other kids and got to play with new stuff (musical instrument, scarf, balls....)So we did sign him up for more classes, once a week. It was a cold cold night, so instead of dining out, Nori came home early with carry out, (well, I should say "earlier" than normal nights....) so we got to eat together with Yoshi sitting next to us. Wonder what's Yoshi's gift to me? ...... He is now offically able to say "mama". It's really cute to hear him repeating the words, although he doesn't really know what that means yet. Imagine an old guy talking without his fake teeth, moving his lips....that's how Yoshi looks like. ^_^ As for calling Nori, it might take a while.....because Nori insisted Yoshi to call him "Ottoosan" (the word father in Japanese), which I think is much more difficult to pronounce than papa, dada.....

Latest videos

Check out Yoshi's latest new conversation.......grandpas & grandmas, this is what I was hoping Yoshi will say each time on the phone, but I guess he prefers to talk in the bathroom environment instead of holding the phone....^_^

Here is another video of Yoshi, relaxing in the evening.....which doesn't last too long.......

Yoshi's first playgroup

Yoshi attended his first playgroup at the Gymboree Music yesterday http://www.gymboreeclasses.com/b2c/customer/home.jsp . He was the youngest & the only one who doesn't know how to crawl yet. But he had so much fun bonding with daddy & others. We will have one more trial music class this coming Thurs, before we decide on the membership. But I have a feeling that he loves it.

Yoshi, mama won't be able to do this at home, only daddy has that power.
Hello, my name is Yoshi.
Yoshi, what are u looking at?
Ah....I see.
Bubbles...bubbles....
(Amy & Mac, I guess I was the domestic helper as u describe in your blog...taking photos, handing out cloth to wipe Yoshi's bubbles from his mouth.....^_^)

Happy Friday

Recycle Breakfast

At the corner of Yoshi's crib, there is Mr. Paddington, he's been with us for long time, even have the original tag along. This morning when I woke up, I found Yoshi was laying at the opposite direction in his crib (towards his "friends"). I picked Yoshi up, OH NO!!!!! Mr. Paddington's tag was being "crumbled into pieces, still wet".......OH NO!!!! After collecting the evidence, I realized there was still a missing piece inside Yoshi's mouth. Luckily, I was able to grab that out right away. I have learnt my parental lesson!!

More teeth

More teeth- Upper front 2 (side are coming) + Bottom front 4, no wonder he loves chewing..
Check out Yoshi's new outfit from Japan, interesting pattern.

Really a song for kid?

Yoshi got this music DVD a while ago. The other night I played the music, and was suprised by the lyrics, is that really meant to be a kid "learning" song?! The words seem a bit too mature for little kids......check out the later section of the song when they sang about how much it cost....
