Halloween party

Today we had a halloween party for the playgroup friends. I had decided to give Yoshi the same monkey costume as he refused to wear last year. (it was 2T/3T size). Suprisingly, he was VERY willing to wear that, he was wearing the monkey pants the entire time. Finally money well spent. Kiharu was a ladybug, luckily the hat was attached to the vest, so she won't be able to pull it off.

Never bought that many pumpkins before....it's for later activities.

This "little" pumpkin was handpicked by Yoshi during his school field trip, interesting shape...

Kiharu's hat was too big; and Yoshi's was too small.....^_^

Jello layers with gummy worm (are u dare to eat? ^_^)

Activity #1- weaving your own placemat

Activity #2- Decorate your own Mr/Ms. Pumpkin (the kids picked their own eyes, noses & mouths, then glued onto the pumpkins, decorated with stickers)

Little sister crawling

Now that Kiharu is officially crawling, there are more interaction in the house. Somedays, I would hear Yoshi calling her name, hoping to play together (or tricking her into following him around the house); Somedays, Yoshi would want to protect "his" toys away from her. I tried to teach Yoshi not to deal with the situation on his own, he needs to call for my help. Otherwise, he might be too forceful for the little Kiharu's arms and legs, when trying to stop her from crawling or interrupting.

After many reminders, he would call for my help "mama, please stop sister for crawling towards the trains"; "mama, Kiharu is crawling underneath the table"..... I tried my best to respond him right away, so to make this learning process more effective, but it also means, I had many pause during cooking.

Yesterday, there was a strange request from Yoshi.... "Mama, please tell Kiharu to stop" "Stop what?" "She is touching my butt!!" (to be exact in his Cantonese- "妹妹搞我(個)屁股").... haha. "Yoshi, Kiharu is just trying to hold on to your shirt so she can stand up next to you". (my instant reaction---- grab the camera!)

Curious (nosey) little sister
Uncle Henry, this is for you. Thanks for Mr. Panda. Yoshi no longer scare of him, he pulled it out today, and two of them started crawling along. If you notice, Yoshi was even shaking his own head...^_^

Fall is here- Part IV: Pumpkins and more pumpkins

This past weekend had a picture perfect weather. There was no excuse to stay indoor. So we decided to visit another pumpkin patch farm, another fun hay ride for Yoshi.

At the end of the visit, late afternoon, way past the nap time.....Yoshi kept trying to pull Kiharu backward, and of course who would give u a smile with that......

Fall is here- Part III: Dear friends

What's better than hanging out with great friends at the park with beautiful fall scenery... "Elias" & "Ethan" were all Yoshi talked about last week. 3 boys in the park, picked up sticks on the ground, tons of fun.

Fall is here- Part II: Pumpkin Farm Field Trip

On Tuesday, Yoshi had his first preschool field trip to a pumpkin farm. I think he was just excited to be with his teachers and classmates, and the bonus part- hay ride pulled by the tractor. I can't get on the hay ride with him as I had Kiharu with me. But besides that, I was able to join the other activities.

ok...I didn't see this sign until Yoshi climbed all over the pumpkins (it wasn't posted on the side where we were....^_^)

The tractor took the kids to a field full of pumpkins, and let them each picked one to take home.
Yoshi always talks about his favorite teachers- Mrs. Lamb(left) & assistant teacher, Mrs. Distefano(right). The maximum class size should be 12 students, but his class only has 6. Yoshi really enjoys his preschool life, he has so much fun.
