$0.50 fun

So that $0.50 toy truck Yoshi got from yard sale has brought lots of fun for father & son bonding time. Yoshi would bring that truck to Nori, wanting to play together. The funniest part was that, Yoshi would go back to his original position, sat and waited for the truck to come by. No one ever told him to sit there though....

Cincinnati Children Museum

Today we met up with Ethan at the Cincinnati Children Museum. It's our first visit, about 40 mins away from our home. There were lots of play area for the kids, great way to spend half a day. Yoshi fell asleep in the car right away. He must be exhaused.

Both boys were pushing the grocery carts, look like they were in some sort of grocery game competition, see who could get the most grocery in 5 mins (without dropping the babies) That might actually be a great stroller for our second kid someday, so big brother can be good helper.

There were these "pretend" play area with uniforms, but those are all much bigger sizes for both of them. So cute....looks like mini-handy men.

See how Ethan being a big brother, holding Yoshi for photo taking.

There was this water play area. Good that there were raincoats provided. Yoshi got wet (in addition to his drooling), he almost has a hair wash there too.

Pumpkin Farm

Fall season is finally here. I like October, as there are lots of fall festivals around town. Now that Yoshi can walk, it is more fun to be outdoor enjoying the weather. We met up with Uncle Henry & Christa to a nearby pumpkin farm (Fall on the Farm/ Blooms & Berries). Actually I have never carved a pumpkin, I know it's probably shocking as I have been here for 13 yrs. Maybe next year when Yoshi gets older, then we will do it together.
"Yoshi, stop disturbing Otoosan (daddy) in the bathroom..."
"Yoshi, can u handle the smell being so close to Uncle Henry?"
"Christa, why are u wearing your bag in the bathroom?"
"Ok, after 3 people, it really stinks here!!!!"

We did the hay-ride, and there were lots of scarecrows along the way, but they don't look scary at all, seems very friendly (& dummy)

Actually all 4 of us doing the hay ride just for Yoshi, but he fell asleep half way to the ride....Zzzzz. It must be the bumpy ride that got him into sleepy mode.

Hello Mr. (or Mrs?) Goat

There was this big tub fill with corns. Once Yoshi got in, he didn't even move a bit, he must thought he was glued inside.....

Lately, we noticed that Yoshi is very curious with animals- dogs, cats, goat....don't worry (grandparents), we always watching him and never let him get too close to animals. Today, he had lots of fun....

Yard Sale

Yesterday morning right after breakfast, I took Yoshi out to a yard sale. It's a Japanese family yard sale, which I'm always interest in. Because I could probably find some Japanese children books/ toys for Yoshi, and some dishes for myself. So I was very excited when my friend told me about this a week ago. Yard (garage) sale here is very common, "someone's junk = someone's treasure find". That's exactly how I felt yesterday. It got me thinking I should do one at our place too, there are lots and lots of "junk" in our basement right now.

For $4, these are what I got from the yard sale, felt like a millionaire spending. (that green toy truck wasn't in my original pile, but then Yoshi was playing and playing with it, not wanting to let go. So for $0.50, that kept him excited & busy for the whole afternoon, great bargain)
This is very interesting, it's a wooden block game teaching Japanese words. Nori was already playing with Yoshi this morning. My friend gave us for free at the yard sale.
After the yard sale, I took Yoshi to visit Nori during lunch time.
When I was cooking dinner last night, I heard Yoshi laughing to himself, this was what I saw....I think he was laughing because everything suddenly turned upside down...silly kid.

Fortune telling

Recently Yoshi has been playing his stack of cups again. He taught himself to put together those cups, and even shaked them apart at the end. Doesn't he look like those people who shake the cylindrical bamboo cup in Wong Tai Sin Temple in Hong Kong? (簽筒) Maybe he was trying to foresee his future, wonder what's for dinner?!

The prediction begins with the cup storing a number of the sticks. The querent thinks silently or whispers it to the deity about their question. The shaking of the cylinder results in at least one stick leaving the cylinder and being dropped onto the floor. Once a single stick jumps out, that stick will have a number on it that will correspond to a number on an answer paper. The writing on the piece of paper will provide an answer to the question.

A day at the park

Yesterday I took Yoshi to a park, just a relaxing afternoon. Now looking at these photos, he doesn't seem to be a 18 months old baby, he looks more like a little boy instead.
There is a pond with ducks around. Before Yoshi's occupation, these duckies were relaxing under the big tree shade. They never would have thought their nap time got disturbed by a little boy wearing a bucket upside down on his head. Run...run...run.....Actually to my suprise, Yoshi was really into following them, instead of heading the opposite direction...

7 years ago (9/26/01), we got married.

Some of you probably haven't heard our wedding story- actually on our rings, they were being engraved with the date 9/16/01, which was our original date. But with 9/11, all the flights were cancelled, all the media were filled with depressing news, it just wasn't the right mood for wedding, most importantly, our families couldn't fly in. So at the last minute, we had to postponed our wedding. It was a lot of work, but we had a story to tell now. Luckily, most of our guests were able to make it the following weekend. The restaurant & all rentals were kind enough to rebook for us. Our ceremony was in a park and it was available. You know, afterall, many people were very unfortunate to loss their love ones on the same September. But for me and Nori, we are very lucky to have each other (+ little Yoshi)

7 years ago when we got married........
13 years ago when we started to date............
Happy Anniversary Nori. xoxoxo

Art Festival

Yesterday Nori had a golf outing. I took Yoshi to an art festival nearby. Weather was very hot, but it's nice to be outdoor.

If Nori was with us, I probably would have extra hand to hold an ice-cream cone

Was someone voting for a different election? Don't think the candidates on the artworks look quite like those on TV........

Haven't seen Otoosan (daddy) for 4 days
