Shinkansen dream (come true)

Finally, Yoshi's dream comes true. After watching all the videos, playing with all the train models, looking at all the train books, and even singing all the train songs.... finally he got to see and ride a real one. He knew he was going to see the train as we had been telling him the whole morning, but not till he heard the familiar platform train sound that he speed up on the stairs. He was so excited, wouldn't want to leave the platform at all. He was just starring at the train from inside and outside. Though the train ride was only 40 mins ride, but it was the highlight of the trip (we made a special arrangement during the family overnight trip out of town).

While Yoshi found his shinkansen love, I found my "macho" (sumo) boyfriends.

During the visit at the Science Museum, Yoshi got to see the train models again... this trip is all about shinkansen for sure...afterall, me and Nori were just as excited as him everytime when we saw the trains....

Bye HK! Hi JP!

The 4 days of Nori's visit in Hong Kong went by so fast, too fast that we hardly had time to say goodbye to everyone. The last minute packing left us only 3 hours of sleep before catching the plane to Japan. Anyway, here we are in Nagoya, it's so hot....too hot that I'm now sipping a cold 7-UP to cool down myself while blogging...

(Thanks grandparents & Uncle Henry for everything....I mean EVERYTHING!! what am I going to do when we go back to Cincinnati .......)

(goodbye Hong Kong)

Koniichiwa Obaachan, Ojiichan...... (first time meeting Kiharu)

No, Yoshi didn't forget Ojiichan, just need some time to warm up..... (he was confused during the car ride home, as there wasn't any neon night scene, nor was it the same grandpa's car...he was definitely showing signs of confusion....)

but it didn't took long for them to warm up with each other.....(& switch language channel)

Nana-chan & Yuuki-chan (cousins), Koniichiwa!!

During this trip, besides riding the transportations, the other highlight got to be playing with lots of new friends. Here are few additions:

Hello Celine, Alisha & Marley (Marley, the puppy)

(Auntie Carman, glad I grabbed the camera to capture this moment....)

Hello 財仔

Hello Miss Kayley (thx for the fun time together ^_^)

My kind of haircut (thanks mom...)

(Mom said, the reason why so short in the front was to avoid needing to cut again so soon.... she cut with a pair of scissors...NO bowl....really??)

First hair salon visit

These past three years, Nori did every one of Yoshi's haircut. But with us being away for a month, and the weather is so hot, it's time for Yoshi to get a new haircut. My original thought was to take Yoshi to a "regular" salon....but while we were in the shopping mall today, grandparents had a spontaneous suggestion which I was reluctant at the beginning...... have u ever heard of HK$50 haircut? (=US$8.50) I had to say, it was better than I expected (well, I had no expectation walking in....) at one point, I even thought to myself, worst case, I can shave Yoshi's hair if it's really bad... but luckily, it wasn't too bad (not that I will ever ever ...ever try myself). Consider this was Yoshi's first hair salon experience, along with grandparents' distraction strategy, Yoshi sat thru the entire process (with a very serious look on his face...)

Yoshi's first swimming class

This summer, I really want to sign Yoshi up for swimming lesson. Finally we got to do a free trial class on Saturday. This was his first swimming experience. It took a few persuasion for him to wear the goggles and the floating "wings". To my suprise, he seems to enjoy it. We have signed up 2 more classes before leaving, don't expect much in learning, but at least it will be fun experience for him (and easier for me without having to deal with both kids on my own back home).

(Yoshi, one more week, Otousan will be here and shop the shinkansen toys with you, no more starring at the packaging only...^_^)
