Golfer Yoshi

Yoshi's latest hobby is GOLF. It started during our visits to the golf stores, where there are putting area for customers to try out the golf clubs. Yoshi would try out a few as well. Then followed by the golf TV channel that Nori has been watching lately. Yoshi would copy a few move that he had seen from TV.

So we decided to get him his first golf set, a more indoor friendly version (before investing on a real version).......the soft foam golf balls already have a few bite marks by little sister....
Well, the day had finally came, we took Yoshi out to the driving range. It was so funny & cute seeing him enjoying this sport. I think Nori was his biggest fan, supporter, buddy and instructor, they have so much fun together...

Pajama Day at school

Today is "Pajama Day" at Yoshi's school. Kids & even teachers were wearing pajamas at school. They got to watch a (short) TV program at the later part of the schedule & ate popcorn (Yoshi's first time). Yoshi even brought in a pillow and his sleeping buddy- Mr. Monkey. It was a tough decision to pick only 1 out of 3 candidates the night before....^_^ (sorry Mr. Bear & Doraemon)

While waiting for Yoshi, I took few photos of the artworks posted on the hallway....

Favorite night of the week

Friday night is the happiest day in our house. Every night, Yoshi would ask Nori if he's working the next day, he would be waiting and waiting till tonight (Friday). He came to me and said with excitment "Mama, Otousan doesn't have to go to work tomorrow". And before bedtime, he would tell Nori to play Shinkansen train with him when they wake up. xoxoxo

(Otousan, you should go to sleep early tonight, it will be a long play day tomorrow and the day after tomorrow...) (I'm typing this comment to the guy who is now sitting right next to me with his lap top...^_^)

The girl who doesn't like to sit

My mom used to say I'm a "very" good little girl, EXCEPT when it came to meal time. S-L-O-W was the 4 letters word. I would keep the rice in my mouth for a long time without chewing or swollowing.

Recently, I asked grandma, "do u prefer feeding a child who eats slow or who wouldn't sit still?"

Kiharu has good appetite, she eats fast and always empty her bowl. BUT, she wouldn't sit still in the highchair. Unless it's fingerfood, then she would sit and munch on the food. But how could u eat rice congee with your fingers?! Standing, crawling, trying to escape......huh, it's a struggle every meal. Table manner is important, but to a 1 year old, it's impossible to teach the concept. I tried forcing her to sit, but it only makes the struggle even worse. I tried to buckle her seatbelt, but she became David Copperfield everytime. .....So I could only maneuver the spoon around her movement.

Well, I'm still exploring my options, hoping to improve the situation. Today, I gave her a little bowl and spoon, she seems to enjoy feeding herself (while I tried to feed her in between), but I just have to be patience with all the food splashing......all I can say, this little girl is surely more active than her brother back when he was the same age.......

Happy Valentine's Day

Yoshi made a card for Otousan. He said he gave all the shinkansen stickers to him, even the biggest sticker on the bottom right corner. xoxo

He even tried his very best to write (copy) the word "Otousan".

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. (& happy birthday Nana-chan & Yuuki-chan)

The past 7 days

Didn't update the blog for a week, I think I have broken the record......

This was one of the week when I thought I had it all planned out, turns out to be very different. Started on Tuesday evening, Yoshi got a fever. Every 6 hours, his fever returned when medicine was needed again. I slept in his room for few nights. Tissues went out very fast with both of them having running nose. Finally went to see doctor on Thursday, confirmed Influenza B positive. Long story short, either he was at the last stage of the sickness, or the (expensive) medicine was very strong, his fever was gone that night. Next morning, he was 95% back to normal.

As Yoshi is now 3.5 years old, the one thing that was a bit relieve when he's sick, he's able to tell me how he felt. He would ask for the "bucket" (a special bucket) if he wanted to vomit. He would point to the spot where he's hurting. He would respond if he's feeling better or worse, all these communications helped to lighten up the worriness every parents have. Remember those times we have to "guess" what the scream or crying were all about when they were little?!

Flu season is almost over, looking forward to all the outdoor activities when warmer weather comes.....

(this photo was taken early in the morning when the kids were waving goodbye to Nori. Right now is Sunday night here, I'm already looking forward to next weekend when Nori is home with us again......hurry up!!)

Good buddies

Lately, I can see that Yoshi & Kiharu are getting along much better together, they truely enjoy being together.

In the morning, Yoshi would go into Kiharu's room (if she's awake), then climb into her crib and talk to her. They always welcome each other with big smile after nap.

....................................I have paused here for a long time, as there are so much I can write about two of them..... but I don't know where to begin......I think the photos below say it all. (as Nori commented "good buddies"....)

They are really good together (as long as there is no disturbance to the shinkansen trains....) xoxoxo

Yoshi's parent (me & Nori???)

Yoshi drew this at school. I told Nori the only difference between me and him is "I'm a cucumber & he's a daikon".
(daikon- Japanese radish)
