Ice cream social time
Lately, we have a new "weekday" routine right after school- "Ice cream social time". Right after Yoshi's school began, I realized he's tired when he came home, and he wanted to play with his toys. He wasn't talking much about school life until right before bedtime, which isn't the perfect timing.
Then one day, while having ice cream treat after school, three of us sat down, and we started sharing about our day (even including Kiharu's own preschool stories, she LOVES it). Since then, it's always one of my favorite time of the day. No toys or books or other things on table, but just three of us with our ice cream cones... Guess the sweetness brought out everyone's good mood.
Last Saturday, we had to attend the class observation day at Japanese school (Hoshuko). Here are the few photos in the morning. Kids were learning how to write the characters.
Now that I have more time at home with Kiharu, sometimes it's good to be able to spend quiet time with Kiharu (in exchange of a quiet time with Yoshi's homework and reading when he's back). Today, she was helping me cut apples to make apple pies....it was a fun kitchen time together, except I am missing portion of my apples.....^_^

so sweet. our social time is indeed around bedtime usually.
but it happens we started a little ice cream time ritual recently too. rafael has a habit of eating ice cream while he's doing homework (just one math worksheet and a tiny bit of chinese character writing). that's his private time with me, as i will lock up the room to prevent interference from heather. :)
Thank you so much for your sharing. I came across your blog accidently. I have two kids as they are 8 and 5. Yeah, they talk more when I have the special treat with them as well. It is amazing they keep on talking, laughing. We are in Sydney. Thanks again. Charis
Hi Charis, I have not been doing the blog for so long, I have really broken my own record for no update. Thanks for visiting our blog. I enjoy meeting new blog friends. Hope I can keep up the blog here and there. Take care.
